I’m not trying to be different — I am different,”. The Philadelphia singers soothing ballads with the texture of lullabies, has seen him pipped to break the trap-themed charts, in a similar vein to the likes of Ty Dollar $ign and Bryson Tiller – not bad company!
Coming from the same Philly streets which shaped the likes of Meek Mill and Cassidy,a chance encounter with a dude waving a Uzi in the studio he was at, hit home that he’s current environment and subsequent lifestyle, needed a change. Fast forward and this week, Sweat$ was in the Number Four position on Are & Be charts, higher than both veteran stars Chris Brown and Trey Songs and newer acts like Jacquees and Ella Mai with major radio singles. After a overdrawn label and publishing saga (he had offers from everyone), Sweat$ now sits with Atlantic. His latest EP, Volume 2, dropped on March 28. Do yourself a favour and go and find out what all the hype is about.
